The [d]arc Sessions Asia 2025 in Langkawi felt less like a typical industry event and more like a creative retreat. A space to step back, reflect, and reconnect with what makes lighting such a powerful design tool. From emotional design theory to artificial intelligence, this event spanned the poetic and the pragmatic.​

From key topics such as designing with darkness, thinking more about light as contrast and silence, not just statement. To what AI can do in our space, and where it still falls short. AI will enhance the process only if we use it wisely. The future of intelligent lighting trends speaks about AI-driven control systems that learn user behavior and creating spaces that feel natural as they are finely tuned behind the scenes. ​

One of the most energizing parts of the event was the product showcase seeing product demos and giving feedback. Understanding what’s coming next in intelligent and sustainable lighting technology was invaluable to the industry profession. ​

More than anything, the real value of [d]arc sessions came from the honest conversations about the future beyond surface level, talks over the dinner table with industry peers, as well as insight from cross discipline collaborator.
