2 private residential houses at Berrima Road, whereby one is a zero-energy building and has obtained Greenmark Platinum and strives to be the first carbon negative house in Singapore. Before being commissioned, the architect has already submitted the lighting power budget for interior lighting using LED to BCA. When we came onboard, the challenge was to maintain the same lighting loading while achieving a lighting concept for both interior and exterior. The architectural features such as the curves were highlighted and brought out the metallic facade, and the warm timber panels. With introduction of an efficient lighting strategy and concept, we managed to achieve a design using less lighting load than what was calculated previously. This is also further improved with the introduction of lighting control system.
