'Archifest Zero Waste Pavilion' - Archifest Pavilion 2012 - Winning Award, Competition Entry
Project Description
First introduced in 2012, the Archifest Pavilion is envisioned as the physical manifestation of the festival as a celebration of ideas for Singapore. Selected from a design competition open to local architects, it is imagined to be a temporary, outdoor recreational venue, which reinvents our experience of a public space in Singapore, providing a comfortable, unique and multi-sensorial experience of the city to be enjoyed by everyone. We collaborated with WOW Architects to conceive a lighting design concept which consisted of tiny "fireflies" within the unique green wall as luminous objects. The illumination of the exhibition and event hall were also carefully planned using LED, so that minimum energy was consumed for the temporary pavilion.
