The ceiling design does not necessarily follow the shelving layout, thus, it is challenging to keep a clean and organized lighting arrangement with adjustable downlights and still able to focus on the book shelves. The use of different strip light profiles allows us to accentuate bread on shelves, materials within the cafe and highlights the mesh ceiling facade.\n\nAs large amount of daylight enters the space during the day, we aim to compliment our lighting with the daylight that enters the space. As the cafe transits throughout the day, different lighting control strategies were implemented to suit the ambient of the time of the day.\n\nOne of the challenge that we encountered in this project was lighting up the entire bread shelve as bread are being stacked all the way to the back of the shelve and we wanted to prevent dark spots as much as possible. Having high CRI is also important in a cafe as the colours of the bread will enhance the appetite of a user. Indirect lighting such as cove and strip lighting are being used to trace and highlight organic forms and arches to enhance the design language of the space while spotlights create a focal glow and accentuate the products.\n\nAs a fashion e-commerce player looking to offer a retail experience designed to be \u201cthoughtful and feminine\u201d, the highlight of the store is the changing rooms where switches are installed in each room to allow users to change the brightness and also the colour temperature. In the mirror room, light is being integrated with mirrors to create an \"infinity effect\".
